check out my setup...question about CAP.
here is my setup fellas, my ? is, is my cap set up right? i've been running it like this for a while now and no problems. i basically have it connected to the distribution blocks just like the amps. one for power and the other for ground.
my system slams, but there is a bit of dimming. nothing totally noticeable, but i am a perfectionist of some sort. ill take pics soon.

That's fine. Try to get the cap as close as you can to the amps (power wire length wise anyway). The closer the cap is to the amp the better.

the best thing to do, would be whatever you bass amp is, i would run the cap inline on the power wire coming from the block to the amp, like a foot or so away from it, that would be the best...

From your diagram, it looks like your attempting to share the cap with 2 amps. You really should wire it inline with the sub amp. If you cap is more then 12" away, its basically useless due to the power cable's internal resistance. Try to mount it within a few inches of the amp. Also, you do not want a fuse between the cap and amp.

well that should work but remember some light bulbs will change in intensity with just a few tenths of a volt difference and unlsee your going to install about 50 of those caps your not going to keep it from dimming completly...
its like they say once you get to a certain level to get any higher you have to spend 1000 times the effort and money.....

what you basically see there is the way my setup looks like (exactly), if you were looking at it from the rear with the hatch up. (im picking up a digicam real soon, so ill post pics then...)
you guys brought up a good point which was what i missed. normally a setup would consist of a cap running inline right before sub amps (i'm using 1 amp/sub) so i figured that it would be the same if i placed it in the distribution block, instead of 'inline' (also, it looks nicer that way).
my question, is that right, or should really run inline (before the dis. block)???
thanks fellas...
