Anyone heard the new Kappas???

I saw Crutchfield has them...was thinking about selling my RMs in the Z and getting 4 Kappa 6.5s. However, after the debacles I've had with Infinity speaker cones (previous "Green-Cone" Kappa 6x9s warping after 1 year, current "White-Cone" Reference 4x6 plates actually CRACKING after 3 months use...) in car installs, do I dare go back to Kappas??

I currently have 3 pairs of Bostons in my 2 cars (the Z still has Monsoon 4" in the trunk), and have been happy with the results. There's just something about Infinity's though...opinions???

My understanding of Infinity Kappa series is that they are a high end speaker and produce one of the best sounds on the market but cannot take the pounding and abuse that some of the lower end speakers are built for. For example my good friend has referenece 6" seperates and they sound like a dream but he had to use a crossover to fine tune them and get just the right power level. I bought the Kappa 4x6 plates from crutchfield based on the sound from his speakers and am VERY axious to install them. I am no expert but that is my LIMITED knowledge opinion.

i wanted the KAPPA 4x6 plates too, but at almost every stereo shop i go to, including crutchfield, said that the magnets were too huge to fit into the dash because of the obstructions.

i checked, and sure enough, my vent was in the way in the drivers side, although the passenger side looked like i could've modded 'em a bit to get them to fit.

i ended up getting the 4" cones (crutchfield includes a 4x6 plate adapter for the 4") and they sound great regardless.
