factory gm cd player

my best friend is getting a system for his 2000 blazer, can I use his cd player and front dash speakers in my 87 trans am

Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: Auto 700R4
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt - 2.77
You can use the speakers if they are a 4x6, if not you will have to do a little modifing to make them fit in the dash of your car. The stereo will not work because the connectors are different on back of the stereo, or unless you want to trace down the wires for power, speakers and anything else there might be for the stereo.(you will also need to cut off the harness connector as a pigtail to splice in the wires to you car) Your friend might not want to do that. Hope I helped you out.

You can buy an adapter to plug his newer radio into your older car at a GM dealer; I'm not sure of the cost.

Or you can go to Best Buy and purchase two plugs... one fits your car, one fits your friend's radio...... splice them together and you're all set. Cost is $16 for each piece.

Or if you like to go the junkyard, cut the harness out of any newer GM car. Then you only need the other $16 harness.
