bi-amping component speakers

I have the option of bi-amping the HCCA6 components I'm (finally) putting in the kicks I picked up from Mike. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether the woofer and tweeter should be getting equal power or whether the woofer should be getting more than the tweeter.

I've never had any experience with this set-up, nor do I know anybody who has tried it. I put in a question to Orion a while ago, but they haven't answered me yet. I'm interested in taking advantage of this option but I have no real way of testing it out.

do the 2 amps have their own built in crossovers ? Is so, definately do it. Do not use the Orion crossover. The active crossover in the amp, coupled with the ability to adjust the tweeter and woofer separately make for a great sounding set of components.

Tweeters typically need less then the mid.

Seriously? Bypass the Orion crossover? It has pretty decent decibel level and frequency adjustment for both the tweeter and the woofer and it allows for bi-wiring on the crossover. If I don't bi-amp it, I'll probably use a Rockford 500a2 to power it and if I do most likely I'll use a Rockford 400a4. Are the crossover settings on those amps sensitive enough to justify eliminating the HCCA crossover?

Still could use some clarification on this. One of the major selling points for me on these components was the crossover's high level of adjustability. Is it really worth it to give it up for the amp crossovers?

And if I got the 400a4 instead of the 500a2 and just hooked up two channels to the woofers and two to the tweeters, couldn't I just use the gains in order to adjust the tweeter and woofer levels in relation to one another? I'm kind of at a crossroads here...

I'm sure the orion crossovers are great, but a crossover, no matter how good, will not make a speaker sound better, it's just tha some crossovers make it sound less bad then others.

I'm not saying passive crossovers are horrible, and we should all ditch them, but if you have the opportunity to use a separate amp on each set of speakers, then going all active will make an improvement.
