soomthing wrong with my Systen after haveing work done on Fuel pump???????????

My system has always made a slight whining noise that got a little louder with rpms but you could hardly hear it so it wasnt a big deal and also had slight static noise that wasnt very noticable either. My system consists of 4 tweeters in the dash, a 5x? and a 6x? in each door, Two 6x9's, two 12's out back on a plate, crossover, and three amps, one for each Sub and other for the rest of the system.

Last week I had a fuel pump put in by my mechanic. I know they screwed around with my the sub plate and amps because they were going to see if they could cut a hole in the back to get to the pump, but they didnt. I got my car back and noticed that I had no bass and that Whining noise was very loud and the overall quality of the other speekers was kind off, not bad but not normal. I got home and one of my sub amps had a blown fuse and I replaced it. The bass came back but wasnt that loud or deep at all. It doesnt sound distorted, but like it getting very little power. The loud whining noise is still there in all the other speakers too ANd a popping noise has developed too sometimes. Everything else is hooked up and looks fine I check all the gounds that I know of and they look fine and everthing is plugged in tightly. All the ***** on my crossover are in the same positions as before.

Could the mechanics have done something to my system when they touched it? Or when they actually put the fuel pump in since the pump is electrical and they never unhooked my battery? Or is this all a coicidence? What is wrong???? Keep in mind I know nothing about systems or electrical stuff. Thanks

ALternator or ignition....

its one of those two, my guess is alt, because after use for a while, begins to die... weaker, weaker, ,whiner, whiner....

and its deals with RPMS of course, more Rpms faster alt spins,

etc etc

im in process of lookin for a new alt..

That may explain some of the whining noise but I have changed the alt a few times in a few years and I Always have had a slight whining after I changed them.

What about the fuse blown and weak sounding bass after my fuel pump change? what would explain that?

have you thought about the power stering pump? If the pump was ready to go, driving in a small shop may have put it over the top. check the the fluid and see what it look's like.Just a far off thougt.
And how many altenators have you gone through, in three car's I only killed one.

check the setting's in the head unit taking the battery out would reset everything.

All I can say is double check your connections (I know you said you already did), but make sure they're hooked up correctly. The guy who worked on your car maybe unhooked the subs from the amps, had no idea how they were hooked up, and wired them wrong when he put them back together.
