Shaved Antennas

Hey,

Just wondering who has their antenna shaved? Any pics? Is it worth doing? And if you got it done what did you put in place of the stock antenna?

I am getting my car painted in the spring and if I am going to do this I will have to do it then.

Let me know!

Thanks

I have a firend who shaved his antenna on his monte carlo. He bought this odd looking u shaped antenna that mounts under the rear of the car and is amped like 200 watts or somethign for cb/vhf/uhf/am/fm. I forget what its called or where to get it, i think cobra or someone makes it.

Radio Shack has one that is a thin wire that you tape to the inside of your windshield.

Nevermind...I did a search and sure enough this question was asked before. There is even a link to Radio Shack!! I think I will get one of these and see how it works before I weld/braze over the stock hole in the fender. If it works out I will post the board with my results!!

Thanks!!

I shaved the antenna on my show truck and used the radio shack antenna and ran it on the back side of the plastic A pillar molding. Looks a lot better without that antenna on the fender. I plan on doing the same thing with the car when I paint it.
