altenator help
Ok, this spring break I am picking up a kick *** system. Prob is, I'm gonna need a MUCH bigger altenator. What is the biggest altenator I can put on. Also, how hard is it to add a second battery? Any help would be appriciated!
Oh, by the way, the system I am picking up is 2 12" Solo-Baric L-7's (the square ones), a 2500 watt 4 channel class d comp amp, and a sony xplod active black panel CD player. All for the low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low low price of $100!!
. Yes, $100!! not 1000, 100 with 2 zeros, not three, one hundred dollars

Nice price on the stuff. I know that GM sells a 140amp heavy duty alternator that should bolt right up. Remember to beef up the cable from the battery to the alternator too. I wouldn't go with another battery, since a second battery is just another load, as far as the alternator is concerned. Just upgrade the battery itself to a gel cell. I am running 4 amps, all Soundstream, a Reference 500, Reference 200 and 2 Reference Class A 3.0's on my 1988 Camaro's stock alternator with no problems at all, and yes, I like metal and rap among many other styles. Have fun.
