Questions about pre-outs
Questions about pre-outs
OK now that i got my good Alpine deck i've run into a snag sorta. The deck itself has 2 preouts frt/rear. Ok now im going to be running 2 amps. Problem is one is a 4 channel. which mean i need 3 sets of pre-outs. 2 possible solutions i thought of. Solution 1) On the 4channel amp(400.4 for reference sake)there in dual in and a single pass through preout. Now i could use this and go on to my sub amp. Solution 2) Also on the 400.4 there is a 4-2 switch which to my understanding will allow it to use all 4 channels with only a single pre-in. However i think this may screw up my fade. So my question is what do i do in this situation???

Get some y-connectors to split the signal and split off the front set of pre-outs for the sub.
Yep, splitters will work, just make sure they are the same quality as your interconnect cables. There is little use for a fader in a well set up system with subwoofers anyway. The rear fill speakers are just there to help solidify and raise the sound stage; you should never be aware of sound coming from behind you. I have run rear fill speakers in mono for one of my previous systems, and in a few I have done for others.
