NO the sub is not shot, but if they are brand new i would see if JL will exchange it for you, that way it stays under warranty. But if there not under warranty, you should be able to solder it right back to where it broke off, but make sure not to get solder on the cone.

no, they are like 6 months old. and I bought them from a friend (Iknow he didn't know bout this too, he wasn't trying to screw me over.) so the warranty is void :-( sniff snifff. THANK YOU soooo much caleb for the quick response. I was super bummed when I saw that.

hey, no problem you like i said you should be able to solder it right back to where it broke, i would use some rosin core solder wire, it will hold a little better, just put a cloth under where you are working so that you dont drip any on the cone!:lala:

of course if i was online at the time, you would be whineing to me on AOL ... lol .. j/k dude.

If it was just a small wire man ... id say forget the warranty, take 5 min and let the soldering iron warm up, grab some tools in the meantime, solder that bad boy on and toss that sub in your car. I thought i trained you well, but your just quasi smart. Well, thats just me .. lol.

I wonder if JL will take one of my subs back if i say i suspect it of being blown ...

no here is the deal.... there gonna fix it for free TIM! I was gonna fix it but then I called em and they said that if I sent it inthe ONLY thing they reuse is teh magnet and basket. so pretty much i'm getting a new sub, and the guy also told "if you aren't the original only, just see if you can get his reciept. thats all you need." so I called the guy and he has it, so almost new free sub for me :-) LOL hehe can't complain bout that can I know. so I figured why mess wif it myself, it'll only take a week to getit fixed.
