LCD Question.

Would it be possible at all to take an LCD screen out of an old laptop and hook it up into a car. I was thinking that it might if I can find out what wire goes where. Or I could be high on some bad **** Anyone have any info on this type of thing?

i looked into this a few years ago. undortunately, its not as easy as finding a single wire. to hook it up to a normal home pc, you would need to get a special lcd decoder card, not just a normal video card. for just plain A/V use, i havent got a clue if there is even a decoder like that

Oh well, I was hoping for a cheaper alternative, but it looks like it would actually be about the same cost if not more(if it was evan possible) to go out and buy a new screen. Thanks for your info.

Already looked into it

The hard part is getting the wiring pinout for your brand of LCD and rewiring if necessary to interface with one of these controller cards. You won't find anything that is just plug and play.
