Those of you with drop base air cleaners...

Quick question for you. For the 14" model with a drop of 7/8", did you have to buy the offset one to clear the HEI distributor? I plan on getting the K&N model 60-1430 but want to make sure it'll fit properly before ordering. Thanks.

No clears fine! The only problem Ive had was clearing the qjet choke linkage and throttle cables. But that was fixed by getting a 3/4inch spacer.

The one I have is 1-1/4" drop. I didn't have trouble with clearance for anything. The only issue I had was the fresh air PCV inlet that goes to the stock air cleaner housing - 3/4" nipple breather cap took care of that.
