Problem with stock carb???

I have a 87 with 305 and 4bbl carb, When I get on it soemtimes i can tell that all 4 barrels open, but other times when i get on it it doesnt sound like it does not as deep of sound and it seems slower anyone else have a problem like this letme know thanks...

the jets may be wrong

you may have incorrect jets for the climate your in (flooding the motor). I really dont know though.

when exactly do you notice this problem (any specific time, when the engine is just started or when it is hot), there is a secondary lockout to prevent them from opening when the motor is not heated up all the way.

the problem accurs when i first start it and drive it but if i get it hot then turn it off then back on like 5m inutes later then it works any ideas how to fix???

The carb is designed to keep the secondaries from opening until the choke is completely warmed up and open (off).

If it is holding the secondaries closed even when warmed up, you may need a linkage cleaning or adjustment. The little catch can be a little too close to the lock-out pin and keep them from opening even when they should.
