Need Help for a Big Prob!
I got a 2.8l with a 2bbl. rochester varajet. It is runing very lean. I have mixture screws out all the way. Do jets and niddles from rochester dual jets and qjet the same as the one in my varajet. I really need to know because i'm putting headers on soon and I need to know if i can rejet. becauise the car in running lean enough with a high flow cat and a flowmaster, not so lean that it will do any harm but lean enough to roughen the idle. what can i do?????????

Sorry, bud. No dice. Different parts between the two.
I suspect you have either a vacuum leak(s) or your O2 sensor may be on it's way out. The ECM should be trying to compensate for that lean condition. If it's running REAL lean it should throw a code that it can't compensate for the lean mix.
People blame carbs all the time for problems and it's not the carb's faul 90% of the time.
