Help!!!, Should I buy a new carb?????

I just bought this carb about 4 months ago and would hate to have wasted the money. Lately my car doesn't seem to be pulling as hard and was wondering if it had something to do with the carb. I G-Teched my car and with the windows down ran a 15.75 1/4, which I would think I should least be at high 14's. I know nothing about working on carbs. and would have to pay someone to work on it, but I heard the Holley Street Avenger carbs are great but they are like $380. What should I do.

Also the carb. is running rich, I have black powder on the tailpipes and am getting bad gas milage. The choke housing busted off but the car starts and idles fine, could this be causing me problems?

Check what I said in my last post on this topic

Quick answer to your question: Yes.

Longer answer: Without the housing, there is nothing to keep your choke open. So, choke closes or partially closes, starts & idles fine, runs rich and chokes flow & power other times.
