Q-jets on manual??, Lets see Carb Guys

I am having huge dilema.. an is about tuning..

Well..as it goes.. its all about tunnings.. especially carburetors. Well I have tried so hard to tune my Q-jet, but with no luck. The only guide I have is a Rochester Manual by Haynes books... NOT THAT GOOD.. It Does not mention how to adjust the Air fuel mixture... Does any body have a suggestion on what book to get.. I mean.. I want to learn how to tune.. there has to be a place to start??
thanks Buds

Mike,
I would check the your local library.
Usualy they have manuals that give detailed tunning adjustments and you might find a book that is quadrajet specific. Autozone has a coouple of books but I cant think of the names .
Of check the free ones first.

They might even have online search I cant find any qjet books but they have some interesting holley books at my library.

You need Doug Roe's book, can't recall the name exactly, something about Quadra-Jets. It's excellent info about the basics of the carb although the edition I have doesn't have anything about the CC ones since it was printed in the 70s; but the design of the carb hasn't changed.

Actually there is an updated version of Doug Roe's book with a chapter about tuning CCC Quadrajets for performance. I got it at a Borders Books for like $19.

Another vote for Doug Roe's book. You can read everything from how to tune for performance to how the carb works. I bought it about a week after I got my Comp Controlled QJet and don't know if I could live without it.
