Don't want to make the same mistake twice
Don't want to make the same mistake twice
OK had my car running for a day before it decided it wanted to be a true firebird (emphasis on fire) and in this time ran into a few probs. 1st was the carb, with the computer hooked up to the carb It would not start once we got it timed in. With the computer disconnected the carb ran too rich. What's the best solution to fix this prob? New Carb? New Chip? But if I get a chip where can I get one made to fit my cars engine? I have a stroked 305 cam specs are 224-230 dur @50 with .477 .480 lift and a 110 lobe sep. For now I'm using the stock exhaust, intake and carb.

Hmmm, i don't know what your problem is, but i can tell you what it isn't...the chip/computer. I've seen CCCS run a worn out L69 with a bigger cam than yours just fine.
You say it won't start, how about once it is warmed up, will it start then with the MCS (thing on top the carb, assuming thats what you've been unplugging) plugged in? If so, sounds like you have a simple choke adjustment problem. With the MCS unplugged it will run richer than rich, which could help cover a bad choke adjustment.
If it won't start w/ the MCS plugged in at all, then i'm stumped for now.

It would start with it hooked up but I had to back the timing way off, and sit and crank on it for a good 20 seconds before it would even pop.
