Carburetor Removal
I'm going to tackle removing the carburetor so that I can have the throttle shaft bushings installed at a carb shop. Is there anything difficult with this procedure? I know many of you can probably do this in your sleep but for me it will be the first time. It's the original CC quadrajet. Any tips, suggestions etc.?? Thanks,

Nothing hard... just disconnect everything and be sure to label where all the hoses go back. It will be stuck on pretty good... a rubber mallet will help break it free... no screwdrivers.
Don't tilt the carb as you remove it or gas will leak everywhere.

If the carb has never been off, chances are that the fuel line tubing fittings will be very tight. There is one fitting on the front of the carb and one on the back of the carb. Make sure you use tubing wrenches or you will round off the nuts on the fittings.
Also be sure not to scratch the top of the intake where the carb seals to it. If you do, you will have a hard time creating a seal there when you reinstall the carb.
Hope this helps.
