Disconnected Choke is this OK??

My choke housing broke due to my air cleaner, so I had the choke disconnected and the flap taken off the carb. I ordered the choke kit from Summit to replace, but was going to wait until fall to put it on. Am I doing damage by waiting. It stays warm here during the summer.

I took the whole choke assembly out of my carb about a year ago and I haven't had any problems, the car always starts right up anyway. If your car runs well when it starts to get colder out, don't worry about it.
