Converting from carb to Multi-port?

Pretty new to the scene dont know much about cars, but I just wanna throw this at you guys and see what you think, prolly wont happen but just wanna see what you think.. I have a formula with a performance edelbrock carb, it was TBI but for some reason the owner before me decided to put an edlebrock I think 750 cm carb on, performs REAL nice but, but I was thinking of buying a MPI, muti-port fuel injector kit from edelbrock, HAHA only 2000 bucks HAHA, what do you guys think, would it be worth the money?

You can get much better fuel injection for under 2000 bucks and have money left over for other go-fast or look-good parts. If you're serious about going fuel injected, look into buying a used TBI or TPI system (in fact, I've got a TPI system I'd be willing to sell at the right price). You can usually get them for a fourth of the price if you shop around. It's really hard to beat carb for cost efficiency and pure, raw power. I would only switch to a fuel injected system if you wanted more fuel efficiency, although it is possible to tune a carb to meet or beat a fuel injected system as far a milage and drivability. It's much easier to turn a couple of screws or change jets than to spend days or weeks burning the right chip.

Thanks, but I think Ill prolly keep my carb, like you said it does have its advantages over fuel inection, and I dont care about fuel effecientcy just about raw power, I would take 1 MPG if it ment I would get 600 HP, anyways my car had TBI and for some reason the previous owner put an AWESOME looking edelbrock performance carb, I dont know to much about cars but the guy told me he had tuned the carb for performance, so I guess my car has a bad *** edelbrock and Im fine with that, thanks for the help though.

If you want raw power put a tpi on there and you will not regret it. I went to the track and ran a 12.47. I lost 4 tenths after I took off my 750 Holley and put a stock ported TPI on there. It is 100% better on gas and has alot more low end power. With the holley it would burn out for 75 feet and with the tpi I can lay rubber from a dead stop for over 300 now. I'm telling you if you want raw power put a TPI setup on there and you will like it.

TPI units cost a crap load, if you know where I can get a NEW TPI unit for my formula at a cheap price I would more than appreciative, but I dont have the money to get that right now, I just bought a cat-back headers and need some body work done..

I know plenty about cars and I am getting pretty good under the hood, I can only say good things for carbs. If you ever do start to really work on your car you will be so happy you stuck with a carb. They are much easier to work on, and you can usually tell whats wrong straight off. The computer is nothing but trouble...
