Primaries and/or secondaries? Are they over center, or not to the center? You may just need to adjust the throttle linkage.

------------------
350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

That is pretty much the way they should be... if they were flat (0 degrees) then the primary would not expose the transition slot. The more important question than "how to fix it" would be how does it run when they are the way they are?

When i'm cruising at about 50/60 mph 3RD GEAR,i smash the pedal to the floor(2nd gear) my car as NO POWER from 2,000 to 3,200/3,500 ,after that, power start to come out.
Another thing: when i'm accelerate from standing position i heard backfiring coming from the carb and/or the engine bogs.

I THINK THAT MY CARB NEEDS TO BE TUNED UP ,i've alredy checked the acc. pump and it's fine WHAT OTHER THINGS I NEED TO CHECK?

No, I think what Evil t/a means is that you have to re-adjust the base timing (disconnect the vacuum advance while you do this) to about 8-10 degrees... and tighten your distributor hold-down screw too!

Sounds like your Accelorator pump isn't giving you enough gas when you stomp it. The lean backfire you stated before is the flag for that. Try getting a different pump cam.

I think that the accelerator pump is OK 'cause my problem begun after my car has passed the emission test here in Italy, before that my Z was very fast,i don't know why?
The mechanic has adjusted something, i guess.

NOW I'DONT KNOW WHERE TO START TO FIX UP MY Z28 .

ANY SUGGESTION IS REALY,REALY,REALY APPRECIATED!

Ciao Z28fromItlay!

What about the fuel pump?
Anyway if a italian mechanic put his hands on your car chance are he messed up something in the emission sistem or somewhere else, becouse they usually don't know nothing about our cars. I use to do all the job by myself, that is the only way to go if you want to keep your car running great.

Then set your float a little higher until it just starts dribbling out. And whats with the "thank you anyway" stuff?

If possible, hook up a vacume guage and an Air/Fuel ratio guage to it and see what it's doing. I'll bet 5$ that it's going lean when you punch it. Do you know what color spring you have for the Vac sec?

That pump cam may be too small. Try using the orange or yellow (i think it's yellow) The lob is a bit more agressive

OK this is what i did, waiting for the engine to warm up (175°) recarb my holley ,set the base timing to 8 ,set a good float level.

Now the car is fast as it should be ,but when i start from a standing position power comes out too far about 2,800rpm before that i don't feel the power that it should have, but after 2,700/2,800 is very strong.
This what i do to launch my car :1st gear (not D ),I keep one feet on the brake untill the engine reach 1,800 rpm then i release the breke .
AM I DOING WRONG?
I 've a 3 speed trans (350 i think)

Do you have a differant Stall converter? I know at 1500 for mine, the tires are spinning

As far as power below 2500, i can't tell you without knowing the vacume and A/F ratio. Sorry
