TBI to carb - time to clean house

In order to clear out the bad reminders of TBI and just to tidy up under the hood, some of the wiring is needing to be cut out. There's the TPS, MAP, MAT, IAC, EGR, fuel injector, smog pump, coolant temp sensor wires and harnesses littering up the engine bay. Can the remaining wires that went to the before mentioned items that no longer exist under my hood be cut immediately after they exit the mass of wires which includes those running to the alternator and a/c? Are there any specific precautions that should be taken in doing this? Also, do I just remove the o2 sensor and plug the hole in the header?

What you need to do is remove the plastic wire loom covers and then find the sensor wires that you will be using still like alt, oil pressure temp. Im not sure on a newr car like yours that was FI but on my fbodys all the wires that needed to be removed were on the passenger side. A good trick is to pull the wheel well cover cut all the wires that run from the ecm pull them through into the engine compartment and start chopping them off.

Trace from the harness coming out from the passanger side of the fender. It is all you need to remove. Chassis wiring (Alternator, oil pressure, A/C blower motor, and speed sensor wiring comes out from the drivers side. It's better not to cut any wires, your better off just taking more time to unplug everything so you can use the old harness as a reference in case you want to use your stock TBI fuel pump. Better yet, if removed undamaged you may get a few bucks for a good functioning TBI system.

BTW, Glad to hear you wanna go Carb!
TBI is ok for stock but since you want to make some real power with less money, you just can't beat a carb!!

I have the throttle body, intake, and prom/comuter and ditributor in the classifieds.

All I'm waiting on now is the fuel pessure regulator (in the mail). I hope it at least starts and keeps running when I turn the key. I had all the messing around with the computer thing I could handle. No more sensors saying yes or no. I'm sure there will be new challenges with a carbed car, but at least there will be a greater payoff for my time and money.

The info is much appreciated.
