1st, I don't see anything about the Avenger series that justifies their higher price vs. the standard Holley VS carbs. Sure, 70 more CFM, but a 305 isn't going to need it. A 80457S will cost you $140 less - get the quick change secondary spring housing kit & spring assortment for $15 more, you're good to go.

Second, you need a mechanical/vacuum advance distributor to go with it. Then, the only connections you need to make are PCV and the vacuum advance to the timed vacuum port.

I agree with five7kid on the Avenger carb. It is not worth the extra cash. If you get a holley get non-Avenger, then you yourself can purchase the metering block (switch out the meteing plate) and the secondary quick change kit.

I agree with 5,7 & BB to a point. Yea an 80457S is a great carb "I have 2, I should know" but he SA needs less tinkering for more power. Holley basicly built an 80457S and came up with a SA 670. Did I mention I also have a SA 670? Well I do and it is a great carb. If You know how to build a holley for more power get a 80457S, but if you want the work already done get a 80570.

The Street Avenger does have a 4th port for the power brakes. And, those clear fuel bowl plugs.

But, don't expect it to work "out of the box". Holley hasn't gotten so smart that they can make a carb that works on an infinate combination of engine configurations. The tuning that will have to be done is the same as a universal VS.

If you don't know how to work on them, Ulrich's book is pretty good. For 8 bucks, it'll get you pointed in the right direction.

I had to tinker around with mine a bit, mostly on the fast idle and float adjustments. Why did I get a SA 670? I was new to buying Holley carbs so I just wanted one single thing that could bolt on without having to worry about buying other little bits later on. It's been a great carb so far.
