Wierd Q-jet, 4ME?

I've got a wierd looking Quadrajet and I'm wondering what it is. It looks like a 4MV with the choke pull-off on the front right of the carb, but it has an electric choke. It also has about twice the usual number of screws holding the airhorn on. Did Rochester ever make a 4ME?

It's in the rochester carb book, so I would assume so...

Non-computer controlled Qjets had 9 screws holding the air horn on, computer controlled ones have 13, but it's pretty obvious if you've got a computer controlled one- big blue plug on the top.

I beleive there waere also some later model turck carbs that were not computer controlled but still used 13 screws to hold the air horn on. They should be torx head screws if it's a late model carb.

Yeah, torx heads, 13 screws sounds right. Definitely non-computer. I'm trying to figure out what it is so I can get a rebuild kit for it.

Just find the part number and take that to your local auto parts store. The part number is stamped vertically into the main body of the carb just behind the secondary throttle arm and will begin with 70xxxxx or 170xxxxx.

I tried a couple parts stores, but they were useless. My guy at the dealership however tells me it's an M4ME from an 85-86 305 pickup and found me a kit.

Hmm, since the direct route doesn't work, what are you putting the QJet on?

Your 84?

Braidon's 65?

Are you trying to send me e-mail? I've been out of town.

It's on Marquise's '82.

Yeah, tried email a few times but was met with roaring silence

I didn't know her car was a V8. I've got a G hanger if you need one.
