First time rebuilding carb. Any suggestions?

I'm going to attempt to rebuild my CC Q jet today and was wondering if anybody had any tips. Does the rebuild kit come with decent instructions or should I get a manual to follow? Thanks in advance.

I hate rebuild kit instructions. See if your local spped shop or hot rod builder can recommend a good book with clear instructions. If not hang out at the 1/4 mile on a friday night and ask there. I did that and some guy actually rebuilt it for me that night after he red-lighted and was disqualified. Guess he had nothing to do, and I paid him with a beer !

The instructions in the kit will not help in any way... so go get a haynes rochester book and have at it. One other thing... make shure you remember how it came apart, if you see something you know you won't remember then draw a picture. I garantee you will take something apart that the book will not help you with. It's only difficult if you bring that upon yourself.
