intake suggestions, and yes i did search!!
i searched the boards to try and answer my question but there really wasnt anything i could find that corralates to what i want to do.ok here goes:
i plan on building up my LO3 in a few weeks, and converting it to carb because TBI is pointless.heres what i plan on goin with:
-carb-road demon 625
-dist-pertronix flame thrower
-ign control-msd 6AL with msd adj timing control.
-cam-LT1 or LT4 or simliar grind
-headers-to be decided
-heads-S/R torquers after i get money saved up after the carb swap.
and after all thats done nitrous, prolly a super power shot with 100 or 125 jets.
so my question is which intake should i go for?should i go for a stock replacement Action+ or performer or should i step up a notch and go with the stealth or RPM?and will either the stealth or RPM fit under my stock hood?thanks for any feedback guys!

Hood clearance is tight with the performer rpm intake. I had to use a tiny air cleaner meant for dual quad set ups. But since you will be making some power i would recomend using it if you don't care about air cleaner size.

As for the rest of your plans, sounds fine except for a couple things. Don't waste your money on an MSD or any brand of CD ignition. It won't do you any good. Also, don't waste your money on heads for your motor either. They will do you good..but not enough to justify the cost IMO. Put the money toward a new motor.

ok ill probably go with the stealth, cause i know how you absolutely hate edelbrock stuff.and you seem like a pretty smart dude so ill take your advice.the main reason i want to go with the MSD ignition is because of the ignition control unit that can go with it,and the fact that it has the soft touch rev control.and i figured that once i get some juice on the motor it would be very nice to retard the timing with the turn of a ****,instead of fiddling with the distributor and a timing light.and that rev control im sure would definetely save my clumsy *** at one point.unless theres some other ways that anyone knows of that makes it easy to retard the timing at the flick of a switch or the turn of the ****,then ill probably stick with the MSD ignition.and on the issue of the heads,i plan on sticking with the 305 for a while.i would like to switch to a 350 and all that good stuff, but i dont have the money right now to commit to building a stout 350,and i have some body work that has to be done also,so the 305 is going to be staying put for a while.and i would like to make it a pretty stout performer just to say,"yeah its an RS.its a really slow
,and yes thats a 305.and yes i just whooped yo a$$!!" to any mustangs and ricers that doubt me on the streets.

How is the Stealth for hood clearance on the 3rd gens? Someday I may come across a good deal on one and want to know beforehand whether or not they clear. In the local speed shop they have a number of different Stealth intakes. I thought there was just one for the small block Chevy.
The Stealth is pretty short. I had that..a Holley, and 14" non drop open element air cleaner. I couldn't run 3" high....I got away with a 2.5" I think it was.
Only one PN for a small block chevy Stealth that I know of...at least currently. PN 8016.
91RSrider...good point. An MSD for the timing retard on the bottle is a good idea.
