when i rev. engine it hesitates badly any help?

when i rev. engine it hesitates badly any help?

i just finished installin my hooker catback and when id go to rev it just a little once it almost died completely but i saved it. then i tryed bring up the rpm's and then revin it and it was hesitatin alittle before it would rev and also now my friend thinks im runnin rich since i put on the exuast and i smelled like something a little like roten egg like and also kinda rich how can i fix my probalems. i have a rebuilt lg4 with edelbrock intake and qjet. but its non cc becuz i got the vacume advaced dis. and carb. so if anyone please help me solve my prob. thanx

mods to car
new ignition system, edelbrock intake,600 cfm q-jet,th-350 tranny, used black interior, grant stering wheel, accel plugs and wires, hookercat back, b&m shifter, emmission delete package, computer delet package and soon ac delete and in future-- hooker sump comp headers, posi rear, drag slicks and all new rims probably weld rims, line lock, 8 point roll cage, strut tower brace, drag shocks, sfc, new edelbroc 600 carb, nitrous and a weiand supercharger or a 350 or 400 block

Just an idea to throw out, but make sure that you didn't accidentally mangle or remove the vacuum line to the distributor. This could be the cause of your symptoms.

hey that is an idea becuz when i sent my car to the mechanic he had to replace the distributer and i might want to check those lines and also i have a vacume line that doesnt have anything attached to it could i plug that also and see if that helps. if u think

It is unlikely that you are running rich. Freeing up your exhaust flow with a less restrictive cat back would make you run lean, if anything. Still, it is strange that it would go so lean as to die out when you rev it.

Step up to a set of DR rods for the secondaries in the QJet, and a G hanger, too. That is the direction to go for.
