Have to "blip" throttle constantly to drop idle...
It's a vacuum secondary'd Holley 750 on a 383 in my '88 TA. I went from a 305 TBI to this, so I'm not real familiar with carbs.
Basically I have to blip the throttle whenever I come to a stop, or just slow down to drop the rpms below 1500. It usually just takes a single tap to do it, though sometimes it takes several. This happens when the engine is warm as well as cold.
I searched through some posts and am going to try some cleaner in the bores in case the blades are stuck on some gunk, but other than that I have no idea. I thought my tranny cable may be too tight and holding it open, but it's fairly slack.
Any ideas are appreciated! (And because I'm new to this carb thingy, the more detailed the better!

Sounds like the choke is going whacky on you... see that it's hooked up properly and try that carb cleaner... it's probably just gunked up.

Install a throttle return spring on the lower part of the throttle linkage and anchor it back on the detent cable bracket.
There is an angled tab with a hole on the bottom of the linkage just for this. Make sure the spring is parallel to the throttle cable and has enough tension.
