Holley Street Avenger???? Any words?
I have heard things...good and bad about this carb. I was going to rebuild my old carb, but maybe I should get this one because it has more cfm(600 to 670) and is, supposedly easier to tune. I have an electric chome on there already, so it just made sense to get the street avenger.
Thanks

I have the street Avenger 770 and love it. I plaecd it on the car and set the idle air and the choke where I wanted it and it was ready to roll. It was set right out of the box , I would buy mine again.

I have the 670 Street Avenger on mine. I love it. Right now it's set up for more acceleration. It definitely has that. If given the choice I would buy one again

770 Street Avenger : $379.95
750 Vac Sec, Elec Choke: $249.95
What 750 Lacks:
Clear Sight Plugs: $5.95
Quick Change Springs: $6.50
Spring Assortment : $7.75
Secondary Metering Block: $32.95
750 saves you 80 bucks. I wouldn't use the clear plugs, and most people won't bother with the sec metering block.
"supposedly easier to tune"
SA is the same carb Holley's been making for upwards of 50 years (more or less). There is nothing special about it other than the marketing push and the price tag.

Don't they combine a different baseplate and body to get the extra 20 cfm?
I still agree, tho, that nearly 400 bucks for a fairly regular Holley is too much.
BTW, 2ponchos, I like the different wheel look. It says "Work in Progress."

I don't have one, because I've heard they're great but not worth the high price Holley wants for them. I read in a magazine that putting a dual carb intake on with 2 600cfm carbs (which cost a heck of a lot less) is actually less expensive in the long run and will give you 1200cfm. The only thing it said you would have to do extra is run extra throttle linkage which will run you around $5. But if someone was to do that, you need the hood clearance.
