Speed Demon, Edelbrock, Holley?
Application will be an L69 street car.
Competition Cams XE-262H-10
Part Number 12-238-2
Intake Exhaust
Lift .462 .469
Duration 262 intake 270 Exhaust
Crane Roller Tip Rockers, SLP exhaust, Edelbrock Air-Gap RPM intake, Jacobs pro/street ignition, World Products 305 heads pocket ported....
I am looking at around a 650 cfm carb and am trying to decide between the following models:
Speed Demon GPT-1282010VE
Edelbrock EDL-1406 (only 600 cfm, but I already own this carb)
Holley HLY-0-80670 670 cfm Street Avenger
I've heard excellent praise on the Demon carbs, but they are more expensive. The price really isn't an issue. Not that I have deep pockets or anything, but this is a project that I am doing over time. So if it takes an extra 2 months to finish the project but I get what I want, who cares.
I am looking for a carb that provides the best power, but is realiable and hopefully easy to tune.
Any thoughts?

I'm sure you could make the Edelbrock you've already got work. Certainly the least expensive alternative.
I can't see spending the money they want for the Avenger Holleys. You can get a "normal" 4160, which is cheaper, and add the things the Avenger has (quick-replacement secondary springs, see-though float bowl plugs), plus convert it to 4150, for less money.
What I've been hearing and even seeing documented results with out-of-the-box Demons vs. tweaked-out Holleys makes me believe that is the way to go if you're going to spend the bucks for something new. For one thing, Demons are flow rated "wet", vs. dry for everybody else; and for another each one is calibration tested before being boxed. Wish I knew before I ordered the Holley what I know now.

I really like my new Holley 650 DP (4777). It really runs great compared to the Edelbrock 750 I had before, but I have a 383 motor and so it demands some more fuel, hence DP.
I'd go Holley 600 or 650 cfm vacuum secondary. I have had much better luck with Holley's Tech Support line than Edelbrocks as well. Call Holley at (270) 781-9741 and they will take your motor info and recommend one of their carbs for your application.....
Just my .02 cents worth.......

One thing I do not like about the Edelbrock carb is that finding parts is not as easy. The other two have parts everywhere!

I would say you can probably tune your current carb. If not I like Holley/Demon. The only gripe I have about the Road Demon I have is that the idle is calibrated very rich - not right for a mild 350 like I have. To cure the rich idle I've reduced the size of the idle feed restrictions. Either way Holley or Demon you will have to tweak the carb to get it right - which can be annoying with a daily driver.
