Have to prime Q-Jet, why?
I have a particular Quadrajet that no matter which truck I put it on, I have to prime it by pouring gas into it to get it to start. It then runs fine, and will start again if I restart it within a few hours. I can get it to start by copious pedal pumping and cranking, but it is difficult. I just rebuilt it, and it performs great, but in the morning, I am best off popping the hood, pouring in some gas, then cranking. Is there a solution?irtually

Common problem with Qjets.
Take the carb off and flip it over. Look for 2 lead plugs
at the end of the Fuel down well passages. These lead plugs
often start leaking which drains your fuel bowl of fuel over night.
All you need to do is clean off the carbon and rough them up and epoxy 'em up. Leave over night to cure and re-install your carb.
She'll start right up in the morning with 1 pump.

The other possibility is that the fuel is syphoning off through the fuel line overnight. In-carb fuel filters are available that have a check valve built into them.
