intake question
Does anyone know if a performer rpm intake will have enough clearance without doing any kind of mods to your hood. I have an 84 firebird with the plain hood, no 1/2 cowls or anything. I know this question is probably dumb but, I need the help. thanks

I have one and it clears by 1/2". I had to get a 1.25" drop base air cleaner and cut some of the underbracing to get it to fit. The carb you get might affect how high it is also.

Search my posts for info and pics on how to install a
performer rpm and holley carb under the stock Fbody
hood with loads of clearance.
You have to use a genuine GM 14x 2.5" open element air cleaner, the aftermarket ones are too high.
