how to adjust edel. ?

hi im goin to be gettin a edelbrock carb very soon and my brother and firned told me that on certain cars u have to tune them. like there not just like take the carb out of the box ,bolt it on and go. like theres some tuning to it. so if anyone that knows stuff about the edelbrock carb could u let me know. thanx

They come with a very elaborate instruction manual that can best help you tune it in.

edelbrock carb

On an LG4, you should be able to bolt on a Edelbrock 600 and go, it shouldn't need anything.

If you are running an LG4 or any 305 you will only need minor adjustments. The good thing about Edelcrap is they are easy to adjust and if you screw the two mixture screws in all the way "clockwise" and back them both out 1 1/2 turns "counterclockwise" your usually right there as far as mixture adjustments are concerned.
There was a piece of linkage that always needs bent but the book mentiones it and the choke always comes set too friggin tight but no major issues.

I dont know... I coudlnt get my 750 1407 Edelbrock to idle on my engine at all. It was either 400 rpm or 1400 rpm. NO in between whatsoever no matter how much I tried to adjust it. The Holley is much better in this department (which is why I switched). Although the Edelbrock made more power..:/
