CC-Q-JET with no low end..........

My carb was reciently rebuilt by a carb shop and I bolted it right on my engine. I dont know much about tuning q-jet's. The car has a flat spot from idle to 3k rpms. It is also using alot of gas. Could someone help me out. Oh yeah its a 84 L69.

Sounds like it needs some adjusting - TPS, IAB, perhaps AV. Does it do act like this no matter how you're driving it, or only when you nail it?

Did the shop do the whole job, including removal and reinstallation, or did you take it in to them? If the former, they should set it up to make it right. If the latter, they probably assumed you would do those adjustments after you put it back on.

To learn about how this carb is supposed to work, get the Haynes q-jet manual, or a book by Doug Roe called "Rochester Carburetors".

How much for the Haynes manual? And where would I go about looking for one? The Auto Parts? Thanks Derek

I picked it up from Pep Boys for $14-something.
