Just got my DR rods in, test results...
Well, I had a junk quadrajet in my garage from some mid 70's car, and decided to look into it as to what it had for rods and hangars. It had an N hangar, and I figured that since that was worse than my current J hangar, it wouldnt have better metering rods than I have. I looked high and low for DR's, and could not find them anywhere, Well being bored I took the rods out today, and they were the DR's I needed. Well I installed these, and noticed how they almost fell off the hangar when transporting them. I put them on, and the second I tried to rev the motor I heard a bang, and thought my metering rod fell into my engine. It didnt, but I noticed my car revved freer, but this was without the air cleaner.
Road test, it felt like the car was cold when running at 220, which is a decent gain I guess. Seemed to have a little more grunt. Finally realized it had more grunt when I floored it at 10 mph. Usually I can get a bark out of the tires, today I spun them for 2 seconds, which is pretty good. Definetly worth the 5 minutes of my time. Now to get ahold of that B hangar and finish it off.

thats interesting...the same thing happened to me. i was at my friends house and his dad is a mechanic and has a ridiculus amount of old parts there. they are mostly ford cause he is a big ford guy. however, he does have a few old Q-jets. i took the rods out of one that had a an L hanger and there they were...a nice set of DR rods. now i just need a B hanger as well.
You can get the B Hanger at Jegs or summit. The Edelbrock q-jet stuff does fit the roch q-jet. I got one for my monte a couple weeks ago. I'll get the P/N if you guys want it.

Part number from Summit is EDL-1960. The one from jegs will be the same last 4 digits but there reference for Edelbrock is different. It costs a whole $2.99. Thanks for the welcome. I'm new to the F-body. I've learned and spent most of the time working on my G-body but need a new project. The monte is staying but only needs paint to be almost fully restored. I've spent a lot of time going from front to back on the car and building the 350HP/400+ft/lbs torque 350. The Camaro has a 350 from an 85 blazer. Its almost ready to fire up, hopefully tomorrow. I gotta go through and see what other stuff the kid I bought it off of shouldn't have done. I picked up the car in the middle of the motor swap. Its got some wiring gremlins but all should be fixed tomorrow. Cross your fingers for me. You can't beat it for $350.
