its like i barely hit the gas and the idle jumps to about 1500 and wont come down untill i pop the gas again. is this a vacuum leak?

It's just a sticking throttle. put on another/stronger return spring.

but why would it only do it when the car is hot. i mean if you barely hit the gas when its hot it jumps to like 1500 rpm, you can actually feel it pulling you when in gear when you take off. its like i have to just touch the gas pedal and the damn thing will take off on its own untill i get to about 1500 rpm.

i have the same problem with mine. It will run at exactly 1500 RPM until a light load is applied then it will drop suddenly to a normal idle. I think its a problem with timming, i haven't been able to get under there with a light when it happens though. I did notice that it doesn't happen when i have winaldl running because ( i think ) once in diagnostic mode the computer fixes the timming advance to a specific setting
