Cam or Carb
This is fuel related, so please read on. I have about 1200 miles on the new engine listed below, minus the exhaust. The other day I took off the carb, and the intake. The inside of the intake is spotless. The intake runners in the heads are the same. They are still bare metal. Every other engine I have looked at like this has a lot of carbon in the intake, heads, and in the passages on the bottom side of the carb. The PVC is hooked up, and working. I had a really bad gas smell in the oil, and it was thin, and that is why I took off the intake. I thought the gaskets could be leaking fuel into the oil. I have ordered the new, reuseable gaskets from Scoggin-Dickey, as well as the bolt set to go with it. Does the fact the intake side of everything look so clean seem wierd to anyone else? Just curious.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Totally normal.
I have 400 miles on mine, and swaped intakes two weeks ago. My runner look like the day they where installed. (over two years ago!)
