Idle problems with new engine

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with my new engine idling right. Just so you know I just finished swapping a 350 into my 85 Berlinetta. It has replaced the tired old LG4. I won't get into the details of the swap and the problems I had....but now that it's running the engine is idling strange.

When I got to start the car cold I have to give it gas for w few minutes. If the rpms get below 800, the engine will stall and shut off. After it gets warmed up though, the car idles high, like 1100-1400 rpms. Even after I drive it, it will continue to idle high. Sometimes the idle will drop if blip the gas pedal quickly, but will soon return to 1100-1400 rpms.

Now, if I let it sit for about 10 mintues after its warmed up (210 degrees), when I start it again, it won't idle fast. It wants to idle around 650-700. it takes it a few minutes of driving, but the idle will settle back to 1100 or so.

I haven't had a bunch of time to mess with the carb. I've rebuilt it a few times with no problems. The throttle shafts just got rebushed as well. I have a feeling the problem is a combination of choke or throttle spring. It is the computer controlled q-jet. I probably need to adjust the MC lean and rich stops and the IAB, but I'd like to get the car idling right first. The timing is set around 8-10 with the distributor connector disconnected. Other than at idle, the engine runs great. Just need to finish breaking it in. For the engine specs, check my sig.

Thanks.
Dave
