Not 3rd Gen but still needs help, PLease..
I have an 84 Olds Cutlass Supreme with the 231 V6 and dualjet Rochester carb. When I just start the car (cold), the engine idles really rough. If I start to drive the car, it really bogs and hesitates to the point where it stalls. The car starts right up again but this is really annoying. Ocassionally while cruising, the car would surge like there is water in the fuel or something like that. Does anyone know what's going on with my car?
I have changed all the vacuum hoses, spark plugs to AC Delco RapidFire 2, fuel filter, cap and rotor, spark plug wires, and PCV. Am I missing anything? Is there anything else I should check? Please help me.
Thanks
Rene

The choke might have a slight problem by being open when the car is closed. The bog problem is most likely related to the Air Valve tension on the carb.
After I rebuild my carb with a kit It solved these problems, I think the kit was 20$ at Advanced Auto.

It might need to be adjusted for your car still, one way to check Choke is to see if it is visible fully open when the engine is cold, if its open after a cold start the choke could not be adjusted correctly, the bog problem would be the air valve tension on my carb not sure if it would be the same on yours.
