What is the main cause for stalling/flooding w/ the edelbrocks??
When I go over bumps it seems like my 1406 carb gets flooded and stalls. Also, though only sometimes, it will drop a few hundered rpm on hard braking.
In the manual it says that the cause of this is that the float level is too high and that is what will cause flooding. Should I lower the level like it is explained in the manual????

I just took off the original q-jet and replaced it with a edelbrock 600cfm electric choke.(I believe its performance series) This was an hour ago. On my way home I encountered several problems. First of all the pedal is hard as nails. Secondly when I make a complete stop and then try to accelerate it stalls until I mash the gas harder.
Question: Can I run this carb minus the electric choke?
Question: What is the air/fuel setting?(the two screws in the front of the carb) How many turns in/out? left screw/right screw?
Right now I'm so teed-off
If you guys can help, it'll be highly appreciated.

Fuel pressure should be 6psi.
A higher fuel pressure will cause a too high float level
and flooding.
