Learned something new about my Holley today.

That when you get stuck on the side of the freeway in rushhour because some #$%$ put sand in your tank and it's now clogging everything, it is possible to completely field strip a Holley with a key you took of your keychain. You can then wash it all out in a nearby alligator infested canal, reassemble it with the same key, and drive home.

That is all

Way to go with the MaGiver move. I bet if you have a stick, some gum and an extra carb you coulda made it a 2/4 tunnel ram.

You must have smoke someone pretty good (***** punk) figured that's the only why they'll get by you. My car got broken into buy a ***** punk (got caught thats how I know) and I remember smoking that idiot....he taunted....I dusted, he found were I live the rest is history...he's in the pokey now, getting poke'd I hope!!!
When I say "***** PUNK" I mean a select few because not all people that drive Japanese cars are punks.

The filter element must have ruptured at some point. I didn't cut it open to see.

I kinda doubt that any sand got through the carb itself and into the motor. Even if it did...prolly just got blown out the exaust. It's not gonna do any damage unless it gets stuck in a valve seat or a ring.

trust me if someone was able to put sand in your gas tank, that did more damage than you think. Why do you think that air filters filter the air so well. by having sand make its way into the carb, that has to be like running the car without an air filter for like months!

no, what im trying to get at is i dont think that there was sand in his gas tank. even if you were able to do that with a holly you cant just take it apart and clean it out and put it on and take off. there is one problem, THERE IS STILL GAS IN THE GAS TANK. LOL think before you post something that is so ridicuously stupid.

yeah that's what I was thinking, there should still be sand left in there, but maybe when he pulled the carb off, there was sand that came out.

Nooo kidding Sherlock. Thats why I drained and flushed the tank as soon as I got it home I didn't do a compression test before and after, but there are no signs of any changes or damage done either.

Now tone it down y'all. Don't make my lock my own post...I hate that.

If you'd like to learn more...I suggest you check out the sticky at the top of the board. It has a link to holleys website...which contains schematics. Always earier to figure out complex stuff like that when there are pictures.

Few ways to do it. I have a small electric pump I hook up one way or another to pump it out. On the 84 (mechanical pump) I just ran the motor off a 1gal cell with a spare pump, and used the motors mechanical pump to pump it near dry.
