What type of spacer is it; open, or 4-hole?

Out of curiosity, what difference does that make?

Thanks

A 4-hole spacer tends to increase the booster signal and improve low-end response. An open spacer increases the plenum volume and tends to increase high-end power.

Most likely, a spacer isn't going to help a stock LG4 much either way.

its been my experience that a single plane intake will perform alot better on the low end on street with a 4-hole (my set-up) and that a dual plane will perform better on the top end at the track with an open spacer. either way i have always had good experiences with spacers. i use the phenolic ones from mr. gasket.

Spacers usually help a bit, Sometimes they make no change. Never a whole lot unless you're running way too small a carb or way to big a manifold, but they never hurt. Go for it.

soon as i get a new hood im gonna run a spacer just for ****s and giggles. Im not gonna be able to use my k&n element as it is. flat bottom 3'' element, holley street avenger intake (1.25'' taller that stock) and a holley SA carb....hood clearance HA

I have a question tho...a buddy of mine through a 1 inch spacer on his truck (350 4 barrel) and it wouldnt stay running...why?? is it just really out of tune? the truck runs like crap anyways.

For a spacer to make some horsepower, you need heads and a cam that will get alot of air moving through the engine. Otherwise, all it does is create a hood clearance problem.
