Choke delete - before & after pics inside
Finally done rebuilding my carb, and while i was at it i shaved off the choke tower too (and the butterfly shafts but you can't see those in the pics). With this, i also got a 4 hole 1" phenolic spacer. I haven't put it on the car yet but will update on performance increases if any. Do you guys think i might have to jet up because of this mod?

Looks good. I went the more expensive route and bought a Proform main body for my 750 Holley (dont trust myself cutting expensive things). I gained 1 tenth and almost 2mph from it.
Wow, you did a really clean job with it! Looks good.
The choke tower, in theory, shouldn't be a restriction but it often is if you use a low profile air cleaner, like is usually required to fit it under the Camaro's low hood line. The lid of the air cleaner sits down too low over the choke tower and acts like a partially closed choke at high airflows. CHokes airflow and sometimes does weird things to the fuel metering of the primaries.

Took her out for a spin today. Dont know if its the freezing cold weather or my bald BFG drag radials but i just could not get any traction whatsoever today. My tires will spin in second gear from a roll. It does feel like the car has a bit more bog to it at the lower rpms and feels like its slightly bogging at the beginning when i floor it, but it catches on almost right away and hauls ***. I will do some more tuning as soon as I get an oxygen sensor and get someone to weld it for me at the header.
