Q-jet power piston spring

How do I know which one I have? There does not appear to be a color code or anything. Are these the same in pre-74 and 75-80 style Q-jets?

How many of you have swapped springs when tuning? I don't see much mention of using this part as a tuning aid with Q-jets.

Thanks!

There are a HUGE number of different ones of them.

I keep a bag of 10 on hand (they only come from Rochester that way) of a somewhat tight one, i.e. performance-oriented, for applications consisting of a good-running motor that has high vacuum. I routinely swap them. AFAIK they are the same in the original 4M models as well as the M4Ms.
