bad carb?
bad carb?
i recently got a firebird due to the abandonment law (if anything is left on your property for more than thirty days... its yours)
at the time there was no gas in it and when i did put gas in it, it would not crank.... i put some gas in the carb and it fired right up.... it doest require gas if i crank it a couple of hours later... but if i try and crank it the next day .... i need to put more gas in the carb...
any hints to the problem

Sounds like the fuel is siphoning from the carb fuel bowl back to the tank.
Fuel pump is 1st most likely culprit. Simplier issue to address is the fuel filter, which should have a check valve in it to keep the fuel in the bowl when the car sits.
For the price, doesn't sound like you should complain too much if you have to fix a few things. After all, if a person didn't care enough to keep possession of the vehicle, is it any surprise that they didn't maintain it, either? Perhaps this problem is why they gave up on it.
Did you have to pay some sort of extra fees to get title to the car, or just file some sort of paperwork?

just paperwork
but i am pretty sure after posts on other topics that i have tracked it down to a fuel pump... and if the car has sat for a while i should go ahead and do the filter too
yeah... its cool to go to school for a semester and return home to see a TA in the yard... and to find out its yours....:lala:
