Semi 4 barrel???

Hey guys whats up i was talkin to my guy that helps me out with my car and i told him i was gonna buy a weiland stealth intake or edelbrock rpm and he said i couldn't cuz i had a semi 4 barrel carb. what does that mean?! by the way i have a 79 camaro z28

I would assume you have a quadrajet, which has what is called a spread-bore base. The two forward venturi are smaller than the rear two, so the rear or secondaries are "spread" wider than the forward primaries.

The Stealth and RPM are made for square-bore or square-base carbs (like Holley) only.

There is a version of the RPM that will take a QJet. Don't think the Stealth will, though.
