Got an open element for x-mas
I just got an open element for my 82 T/A LG4. I was wondering if its any good for daily driving and what other mods will need to be done.
Open elements definately flow more air. I have heard that some people have had problems with the car not running well in real hot or cold weather or before the car warms up without them, however I think most of these problems can be fixed with some carb tuning. I am using a dual snorkle but there have been a lot of people that have got results out of open elements and still had good drivability.

I've been running an open element for 2 years now just fine. 110 down to 30 degree temps with no problems.

Ive had one on for a few months now with no problems. I've heard of people getting carb icing in the cold, but I've had it on all winter so far with no problems. I noticed a big difference from my single snorkle. Escpecially when I open up the hood scoop.
