dies in second
My z pulls very hard all through first gear and through second gear until about 4700 RPM, then falls flat on its face. I have to let off or it sounds like it will die. Anyone know what could be wrong? The engine is a basically stock 350 with a compucam, headers, and high-rise intake. Also has the stock cc q-jet. Thanks!

Obvious fuel delivery problem. Runs great until the fuel bowl gets emptied, but the system can't keep it refilled.
Have you replaced the fuel filter? That's the first place to look.
