Just a quick question.
If i use the mallory three port regulator, i will still have to use the computer won't i?
Because the in tank pump works of the computer is this correct.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff.

Yes you are correct the power runs through the computer. NOW here is what I did. I got rid of all my computer junk. I found the fuel pump + at the computer and a constant ignition on 12V supply at the computer harness and put them together and the pump kicks on when I hit the key. I did add a kill switch on the dash for safety.

Thanks Brian.
I'm not sure which way i am going to go about it yet.So you just got the fuel pump + and a constant power source at the computer and joined them together and everything works alright?
Sounds pretty easy it might be the way to go.
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah that is all I did. That way I didn't have to splice the original harness to the pump. Like I said though make sure you run it through a switch so you have a safety kill switch. Let me know if I can help.

i have the mallory 3 port on my 91 bird but i didnt cut anything out or rewire anything. The fuel pump is energized by two sources 1. oil pressure sender 2 ecm (prime function) Well since i have fuel bowls now I really didnt need the prime function from the ecm so i took the ecm out. Now i just fire the car up and soon as the sender sees oil pressure it fires up the fuel pump. The only thing i had to do was move the oil pressure sender from above the oil filter because my old block didnt have the hole drilled and tapped for the sender to screw in. I just adapted it to go behind the dist. like normal oil pressure gauges go.

I have the Mallory 3-port also. I ran aftermarket relays near the battery and ran new wire to the fuel pump and gave it a new ground. It was much easier than some advice I was getting to drop my tank, buy a non-electric pump pick up and install it, and run a mechanical pump. I have a close up of the AFPR on the second page of my website. If you need to know how to wire up the relay feel free to ask.
