? about air flow

Hi ,
I have a question about the airflow on my 86 camaro with a lg4. I have the stock air cleaner, and I was thinking about going to the junkyard buying a couple of air cleaners ( if price is right ) and make my own dual snorkle. One of my questions is that does enough air go through between the hood and where the head lights are? I was thinking about sanding down the top of the headlight bezel where the snorkle is at , and raise the hood up ,were it latches at ,as much as possible without it looking f'd up(maybe that would help with a little extra air).
Another thought was getting an extra air cleaner, and on the passenger side, maybe taking a dremmel and cut out a couple of opennings so it could get more air that way (kind of a stock/open air cleaner) and yes I know . I have to much time on my hands.
Thanks
I would appreciate any suggestions.

i ran hoses to the hi-beams, bulbs removed. i never used them anyway.i've got the dual snorkle setup and it just didn't look like it would allow enough air in. Ram Air Box makes a setup that goes to the headlights or the inner fenders. the only true test is track time.
