help with Edelbrock 600 carb
help with Edelbrock 600 carb
I have the Edelbrock 600 on my 84TA. This carb was new about 1 1/2yrs ago, and has very low miles, but has been sitting for a long time. Sometimes the car will die when I make a turn, and it will be flooded out, so its very hard to start. The throttle response also sucks at all times.
Everyone is telling me that my carb is a POS, and that I need a Holley. Now, I will admit that I don't know crap about carburetors.
But still, I think I should be able to simply rebuild the Edelbrock, and it should run fine.
However, I need you carb guy's opinions. Should I rebuild the Edelbrock? or just buy a Holley (new or used?) ?

First, I don't have an Edelbrock, and haven't spent much "quality time" with someone who does.
But, what you're describing sounds more like a need for adjustment than a need for rebuild. Float, specifically.
Either that, or Edelbrocks can't corner.
